Accept Your Own Cyclical Nature

Our Divine Download for May 28, 2021 is Cyclicality/Elderberry from The Illustrated Herbiary Oracle Cards. Elderberry is honored with a prominent placement in the center of the garden because of the healing powers and wisdom she embodies. She often appears scraggly, and hardly noteworthy of prominent central placement, but she embodies three faces and stages of the goddess. Maiden, Mother, and Crone. She reminds us that just like her noteworthy and obviously cycles intertwine within her mass of scraggly branches, so too do our own cycles. Neither life nor time are linear and Elderberry encourages us to embrace and accept our own cyclical nature. We are rarely ever simply one thing at a time, or in one stage of our evolutionary development. We multitask everything else, so why then wouldn't we use our fluid nature to multitask our own growth?! Whatever stage (or stages) we are at in our lives, whatever growth we may be focusing on, Elderberry reminds us that acceptance is key to truly playing an active central role in our own cycles and our own growth and development. Cycles are at the center of and form the foundation of our existence. Living cyclically , with an awareness of cycles (our own and those of the Universe), can change our perspective in deeply profound ways. Our evolution occurs as an upward climbing spiral rather than any sort of line. When we hop from one thing to another thing, insisting that we are done after one go around, we deny ourselves the type of growth that we are intended. Just as the student often needs to review previous lessons in order to secure new learning, we too may need to cycle through periods of review and revisiting. It is not a punishment, but a privilege to cycle through these periods of review in order to gain beautiful perspective and wisdom on just how far we have come and how much we have grown.

It can sometimes feel overwhelming to realize that we are in differing cycles in differing areas of our lives, all at the same time.
