Beltane is a Celtic festival usually held halfway between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice, which is celebrated in the pagan and other adjacent communities. It is ALL about celebration and largely about fertility. As we head through the autumn and towards the Winter Solstice, it is not a bad idea to think about those areas where we wish to experience fertility in our lives. As we saw yesterday, we are in a season of harvesting the prosperity of past plantings, but that does not alleviate the need to think about what we may want to sow in our lives moving forward. What do you wish to plant? What do you want to grow in your own life? What dreams or projects do you wish to nurture, nourish, and give birth to? This is what Fertility asks us to think about. But it isn't just about what you want to give birth to. It is also about what you want to celebrate. What you want to embrace. Beltane is always a joyous celebration. What are you celebrating in your life today? What have you been celebrating in your life lately. There is always something to celebrate. Our society is far too serious, far too negative, far too focused on the gloom and doom and not the "little" accomplishments and celebratory moments. The success of our future fertility and at what speed and to what extent we are able to give birth to our dreams hinges on how much we are willing to celebrate ourselves. When was the last time you told yourself that you're proud of you? When was the last time you truly celebrated yourself and your past or current accomplishments. We don't need to wait for the calendar to represent a specific holiday or a specific time of year. We can celebrate because it is Sunday. Or because we got out of bed this morning. Or because we did not go on a multi-state murder spree yesterday. It's a jungle out there, and its not for the weak. Every day that you are alive, every day that you get up and get after it is a reason to celebrate and the more you can adopt this practice, the more fertility you will experience which will allow you the ability to give birth to the future of your dreams.
