Our Divine Download for October 6, 2022 is Turtle/Mother Earth from Medicine Cards. In Native American Teachings, turtle is the oldest symbol for planet Earth and is the personification of goddess energy, as well as the eternal mother from which our lives evolve. Turtle asks us to honor the creative source within yo, to be grounded to the Earth, and to observe the situations in your life with motherly compassion. You are encouraged to use water and earth energies, which represent the turtle's two homes, to flow harmoniously with your situation to to place your feet firmly on the ground in a power stance. Turtle is one of the best teachers in the art of grounding and when you align with turtle energy, you may even be able to overcome of your flighty, spacey type tendencies. In learning to ground, you are placing focus on your thoughts and actions and slowing to a pace that assures completion. Turtle warns of the dangers of "pushing the river" and trying to force your own time line over the wisdom of the flow of universe time (insert collective groans and 2022 frustrations). Turtle may keep a plodding type of pace, but she still moves, and continues to make progress even at said pace because she knows anything harvested before its time is simply not yet full. Patience is another wonderful virtue of turtle. Turtle buries her thoughts, just like her eggs, in the sand and allows the sun to hatch the little ones in their right time. This teaches us to develop our own ideas before bringing them out into the light. When you draw the turtle card, it suggests a time of connecting with the power of Earth and the Mother-Goddess within. This is a reminder of the ally, the partner that you have in Mother Earth. It does not matter what situation you have created: ask for her assistance and abundance will follow. And so it is.
