We are all always so busy, so burdened, and so overwhelmed, that we sometimes forget that's not the way that life is meant to be lived, regardless of what society models for us. We are meant to be excited and enthusiastic about our lives, more often than not. We are meant to feel passionately about our projects, our friends, our loved ones, our lives. If we don't, well, then that's something we seriously need to do something about. Life is meant to be enjoyed. We are meant to live in joy. We are meant to enjoy our lives. We cannot enjoy our lives if we aren't passionate about something. When we don't have things in our lives that we are genuinely excited about or enthusiastic over, it makes it hard to put up with the day-to-day drudgery and to go through the motions that society insists we go through. We need passion to fuel us, to motivate us, to uplift us, to give us a reason for being. Passion and purpose often go hand-in-hand. If you are not living your purpose, it is difficult to connect to your passion. Children don't need to be told that they need passion in their lives - they are genuinely enthusiastic and passionate about many things and they just light up with excitement when they get to talk about, see, or experience anything relating to their passion. But we are often conditioned to outgrow our passions, and we may have even been shamed for them as children, possibly having been told things like "you're too old for that...," "that's a silly little hobby," or "girls/boys shouldn't like those things..." etc. We were told and taught NOT to listen to our heart space! Then as adults we talk ourselves our to following our hearts and living passionate lives for myriad reasons: "It's not practical." "That's too expensive." "It will take too long." "I'm not good enough." "It's too hard." "He/She doesn't want to hear from me." Etc. And that's all bullshit. Sure, any of those things are true - if you choose to believe them. But do you really want to cop out of living your most passionate life? Are you really okay not even trying? Are you comfortable putting out the fire within your own heart? If you are, cool, as you were. But if not, it's time to follow that gorgeous glowing heart of yours as it leads you towards your brightest, most passionate life.
