Our Divine Download for December 19, 2023 is Ego from the Fairy Tarot Cards. In other tarot interpretations Ego is considered the Devil. Ego is also a major arcana card (Boom! Two in a row!) so we know we're in the think of a major upgrade or energetic shift. Ego talks about the illusion of being trapped. We are usually only trapped within the confines of our own thoughts. If we could get out of our own heads (ahem, like through meditation...) we could also get out of our own way, and we would know where and how we could move and wouldn't feel trapped. Sometimes Ego can also mean that we are placing too much attention and too much emphasis on material things, or things that just really don't matter in the long run. So be mindful of where you are investing your energy and placing your attention. Especially at this time of year, be mindful of not getting caught up in and by the material world and allowing the material world and your own thoughts to create a prison of your own making. Finally, the Ego card also talks about fear and worry energy. Because our actual ego operates most effectively in these spaces. But it doesn't serve us any more than allowing our ego to run the show and being reactionary from a place of fear and worry does. So again, we lean into our meditation practice to learn to shush our ego so that it doesn't run amuck and hold us captive in fear and worry energy.
