Connect!

Our Divine Download for August 17, 2025 is Connection from the Self-Care Oracle with the message "Connect with someone special. A loved one is a gift to treasure." It is an interesting paradox in our society that the more technology and devices we have to assist us with connectivity, the more isolated we seem to become. There is a sense of false connection that comes through social media and leaves us with an empty and unsatisfied feeling. Some have even lost the art of human connection all together. The pandemic gave us a false sense of security in isolation, when we got in very wrong in that human beings are not meant to be solitary species. We are meant to gather, we are meant to interact. For some, that sense of isolation, has never left, and it has never felt the same to be around people post pandemic. And it makes a lot of sense because if we're keeping things really real, not all people are a picnic to be around and much of the time it seems like everyone has lost their damn minds, and common sense is a commodity of the past. It is challenging. But we are being guided that we need connection at this time. This guidance wouldn't come up for us if it weren't safe for us to connect. The key is to be mindful with whom you connect. Those people who drain you, who suck your soul, who maybe make you question if you even want to live anymore - probably not the best people to lean into connection with. But those people who uplift you, whom you see and feel encouraged, lighter, better about yourself, those are the people with whom it is safe to connect. Even if you have had these connections in the past, and maybe there was a glitch, or a hiccup, or you or they made some choices of the not-the-best-type variety that may have damaged the connection, that does not necessarily mean that the connection is permanently damaged or has to be over (it is the sense of isolative safety that causes our ego to barf that nonsense at us). In order to truly connect, we must also be a little bit vulnerable and in doing so that means we may need to own our shit and tell people that they are important to us or that we love them, or that we're sorry that we acted like a royal jack ass and how we've grown and learned and won't be doing that again. It's not about swallowing pride or extending too many chances, it's about allowing people to be human and keeping it real. Because that is where the best connections live.
