Life can become arduous and dull and we all fall victim to becoming stuck to the point of rigidity in our routines. Our Mermaids are counseling us today to shake things up a little bit. Do something on a whim. Don't plan it, just do it! Don't think about it (because thinking is the quickest and easiest way to absolutely kill spontaneity.) Just do it! Whatever it is. When you read this, the very first thing that came to your mind, that thing that's been living rent free in your head, desperately trying to escape the back of your brain into your conscious reality, is your spontaneous directive. Send the text. Make the call. Drop in on someone who has been on your mind. Treat yourself to that thing that you love and never allow yourself to have. Buy the clothing that makes you feel amazing. Cut your hair. Take the class. Register for that event you've always wanted to check out. Try a new food. Take the day off from work. Have a date with yourself. Show up in some loud, meaningful way as the future version of yourself that you are wanting to embody. Heck, do all of the above! Go crazy! We are meant to be in joy. Joy is our birth rite. When we are spontaneous, not only are we embracing life and living in the flow, but we up the anti on allowing ourselves to experience joy in our lives. We also experience a dopamine hit when we allow ourselves to take spontaneous action so it literally feels good to us, and then that thing that we are spontaneously doing also feels good to us, so it truly is a major investment in your self-care. It is the gift that keeps on giving. Pick on thing. Anything. Literally absolutely anything. And just do it already. Just do it! Not something you have been hemming and hawing over, but something that is spur of the moment. Invest in your happiness in this super fun, super exciting way and you will be so very happy that you did. And that is the name of the game of life!
