This is necessary because, in seeking to restore the feminine to our culture, we must not lose sight of the fact that the cause of our problems isn't the presence of masculine qualities in the world, but rather those qualities have become excessively dominate and misapplied. Divine feminine qualities are an awareness of the gifts of embodiment, as well as intuitive, emotional, and empathic ways of being in the world. Divine feminine energy governs our intuition as well as our ability to be in and maintain flow state in our lives. In contrast, Divine masculine attributes are active, rational, goal-oriented, and structured, and are traditionally associated with intellect. Harmonizing these different energies within ourselves is a prerequisite for the work of restoring balance to an outer world which has lost is equilibrium. This card, this sacred marriage, invites each of us to find our own unique ways of working with and balancing these qualities. This is the most effective way that any of us can be the change that we want to see in the world. This sacred marriage isn't just about balance. It is about integration. Every person, regardless of gender, needs both Divine feminine and Divine masculine attributes in order to be the most integrated and effective version of themselves. In order for us to be the strongest, healthiest, most effective versions of ourselves, we need to be somewhat integrated with both Divine feminine and Divine masculine energies. W need to strike a balance between doing and being, giving and receiving, force and flow. This is how we are meant to be, and how we function most optimally. This is the way.
