When Mary Magdalene appears, loyalty and understanding from others is coming into your life. Relationships are often a delicate art of balance, respect, honestly, and you are now realizing the importance of choosing the right people in your life. You are responsible for anyone or anything that is draining you. Read that again. YOU are responsible. If anyone or anything that is draining you, it is up to you to pivot and change the circumstances which are allowing them to do so. Now is the time for you to take responsibility for the people, places, and things in your life in order to make a change (and change is ALWAYS possible!) Mary Magdalene is here to teach you that you must fill yourself up first before you can give. Be discerning about who you give your devotion to. The Mary Magdalene Oracle card is about ending any rifts, strife, or discord you've been experience with others. She is reminding you that loyalty should only be given to those you trust. In the New Testament, Mary Magdalene is known for witnessing the crucifixion and being the first to see Christ when he resurrected from the dead. In the 6th century, Pope Gregory I started the belief that she was a fallen women shrouded in "sexual sin" because she was a shamed sex worked. However, there is no record of this in the scriptures and in 1969 the church admitted they were incorrect in these beliefs about Mary Magdalene, but the lore of her story stuck for the most part. A plethora of theories have developed around the legend of Mary Magdalene and it is widely theorized that she was a powerful leader in Jesus's spiritual movement, which is supported by the Gospel of Mary Magdalene of which multiple copies have been recovered. Mary Magdalene is ultimately a story of empowering feminine leadership and unwavering loyalty. It's important to heal and practice balance in your devotion. Your radical self-love will allow you to help and give to others.
