Love Endures. Always.
Our Divine Download for October 15, 2026 is Love endures from the Memento Mori Cards To Embrace Change. All feelings are transient, some even fleeting. But love is SO much more than a feeling. Love is a shared experience. Love is a state of being. Love by definition is a strong, deep affection or emotional attachment for another person, animal, or thing, arising from kinship, admiration, romantic attraction, or shared interests. Philosophers and theologians often define love as an act of will—specifically "willing the good of another"—rather than just a passing emotion. Psychologists describe love as a combination of cognitive and emotional experiences that drive people toward altruism, care, commitment, and personal sacrifice. Even in the Bible, in 1 Corinthians 13:13 says "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." So why do we see and hear about so many people falling out of love, getting separated, divorced, or even leaning into disdain or hate? Because we routinely bastardize what love actually is. Some of us have never experienced real, true love, as defined above. We may have never have true love modeled by our parents who likely did the best they could with what they had. It is possible that in our most intimate past relationships we were loved in the ways defined above, but we may not have been in a place to accept or allow ourselves to experience that love. Love and lust are often confused, as are loving someone and being in love with them. All of it often stems from our relationship with ourselves, which is usually defined and deeply affected by how we were treated as children by our families of origin. Even the ways in which we go about finding romantic partners is a bit flawed and skewed - we insist on certain "types" and traits and even physical characteristics as non-negotiables when love often has nothing to do with any of that. You don't love someone because they have great arms or a good butt. You love them because you see the spiritual truth of who they are and their spiritual truth resonates with and recognizes your own. Love, much like matter itself, cannot be created or destroyed, though it can wax and wane in intensity. But love always comes through in the clutch. Because love endures. It is as simple as that. Real, honest, true love will always endure. And that's a fact.
