Our Divine Download for July 18, 2025 is Oduduwa from the Black Goddess Within Oracle. Oduduwa is one of the oldest deities in the Yoruba pantheon, and she represents sophistication of duality and the complexity found in completion. When you pull her card and she shows up for you it is often because your ancestors, the ancestors, are asking you to set aside some of the one-sided stories you tell about yourself. It is time to write new stories, it is time to live new stories, which honor the scope of your wisdom and your experience. You are a complete and powerful being with a direct connection to our divine creative source. You are not just one thing. Whether it be a physical trait, a talent, a diagnosis, the way that you think, habits, or patterns, you are never merely one thing. We are full of not only duality, but beautiful, layered multiplicities. So why do we ever tell ourselves that we are only just one thing? And why are those things that we tell ourselves we are so often negative? We are not our emotions. We are not our thoughts. We are not our actions. All of those things are merely layers of our being. We are extraordinarily multi-faceted. Each and every one of us. When we tell ourselves otherwise and try to box ourselves into single categories, we are cheapening much of our human experience and we are also demonstrating how we also view others (and they too are never just one thing!) Oduduwa invites you to embrace that which appears to be in contradiction within yourself, accept that many things can be true and we can embody them all simultaneously, and know that you are whole. She also challenges you to unleash your creativity outside of the confines of your singular labels and stories.
