You Are The Company You Keep

Our Divine Download for August 12, 2025 is Do I Surround Myself With People Who Lift Me Up? from the Soul Truth Self-Awareness Card Deck. If the answer to this question is anything other than a resounding "YES!" You've got some work to do. The people with whom we surround ourselves determine who we become. Read that again. That means that if you continue to surround yourself with people who you have outgrown, who drain your energy, who make you feel anything less than stellar about yourself, even if you go home and gripe, whine, and complain about those very things, you are inevitably keeping yourself stuck and will in fact end up exactly like those people that you may claim to be so far above and beyond in terms of spiritual growth and awareness. Awareness only goes so far without action to support it. Does your tribe fill you up? Do you have a tribe? Do they inspire you? Do they believe in you? Do they help you step into your greatest potential? Are they cheering for you the loudest when you succeed? Are they there to scoop you up and dust you off when you feel like you may have failed? Have you even let them in closely enough to you to know what you are striving towards and when you may need to be helped up and dusted off? The old adage that you are the company that you keep is absolutely true. Make a list of the type of people with whom you wish to surround yourself, and clarify if there is anyone in your life who no longer serves you. You do not necessarily have to cut them out of your life, but you may need to make different choices about how you are choosing to invest your energy in them. It is possible to love people from a distance. You don't owe anyone an explanation for your choices (I am not talking about ghosting people by any means - that is not spiritually aligned behavior regardless of the circumstances!) Surround yourself with people who do lift you up and prepare to soar!

We often hold onto relationships and dynamics well past their expiration dates, especially when we have had a lengthy history with certain friends and with family.
